Employer Coalition Applauds Congress for Employee & Employer Health Relief
Budget Deal Strengthens & Preserves Employer-Sponsored Coverage
WASHINGTON, DC (DECEMBER 16, 2019): The Partnership for Employer-Sponsored Coverage (P4ESC) issued the following statement of support for the inclusion of the full repeal of the Affordable Care Act’s 40 percent excise tax on employer-sponsored plans and health insurance tax in the year-end federal budget package.
“The Partnership for Employer-Sponsored Coverage commends Congressional leadership for providing long overdue relief to the 181 million Americans and their families who rely on employer-sponsored health coverage every day. Both the Cadillac tax and the health insurance tax have direct cost impacts on premiums and co-sharing that hardworking Americans pay for employment-based health plans. Full repeal of both these taxes in the budget package strengthens and preserves health coverage offered by employers of all sizes,” said Christine Pollack, Executive Director of the Partnership for Employer-Sponsored Coverage.
The Partnership for Employer-Sponsored Coverage is an advocacy alliance committed to ensuring that employment-based coverage is strengthened and remains a viable, affordable option for decades to come. P4ESC membership includes:
