The Partnership for Employer-Sponsored Coverage’s Executive Director Christine Pollack was the guest on this week’s National Association of Health Underwriters’ (NAHU) podcast to talk about reintroduction of the Commonsense Reporting Act, S. 2366/H.R. 4070. The Commonsense Reporting Act was reintroduced by Senators Mark Warner (D-VA) and Rob Portman (R-OH), and Congressmen Mike Thompson (D-CA) and Adrian Smith (R-NE), senior Members of the tax-writing Senate Finance and House Ways and Means Committees, this summer.
Pollack and podcast co-host Chris Hartmann discussed the bipartisan efforts in Congress to reform the employer IRS reporting requirements, prospects for enactment of this legislation and a full repeal of the Cadillac tax, and larger picture advocacy efforts by the employer community in Washington, D.C. on behalf of employees and the employer-sponsored coverage system.
